Google Calendar no Gnome
Google services like Gmail and Google Calendar are excellent. A very useful feature is to access your Google Calendar events from your desktop in Gnome. In Ubuntu, the application of Evolution, an email client, rss and agenda is already installed by default. To allow you to access your calendar from anywhere, and view from the clock in Gnome System Tray, you can get the link to your calendar and add in Evolution. Thus, access your calendar at calendar.google.com in my calendars, click on Settings. Scheduler tab, click an agenda (usually has an agenda with your name). Lower down you have the options of the Agenda and Address Private Address. Click the button to get the ICAL link to one of the agendas. The first is for your calendar public, you may not have set any settings in Google. The second is for their private agenda.
For more information about the iCal format, click the link Learn More.
Now open a terminal and type:
$ / Usr / lib / evolution-webcal / evolution-webcal SUA_URL_ICAL
With this you add your Google calendar in Evolution. You can do the same from the interface of Evolution, by clicking the New button and choosing the calendar, simply choose the Gmail option in the Type field and type your login and password after Gmail, simple as that.
See picture on the agenda in Ubuntu.
Probably the Mozilla Thunderbird and Outlook / Outlook Express should have this feature.
